❝Whoever wants knowledge of the former ones and of the latter ones then let him do ‘tathwīr’ of the Qurʾān❞

Ibn ʿAṭiyyah explained, “Tathwīr of the Qurʾān is discussing it, studying it in groups, researching it and searching within it.”
Others explained that tathwīr is the recitation and a deep study of the Qurʾān with scholars.
This is a glimpse of the ṣaḥabah’s relationship with the Qurʾān and the relationship of those who followed their blessed footsteps. It was only when people distanced themselves from the People of Knowledge and from the language of the Qurʾān that their relationship deteriorated to—at best—reciting words that don’t pass their throats.
May Allāh grant us a life in the shade of the Qurʾān.
