وَلَا تَعْجَلْ بِالْقُرْآنِ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يُقْضَىٰ إِلَيْكَ وَحْيُهُ ۖ وَقُل رَّبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا
“So high [above all] is Allāh, the Sovereign, the Truth. And do not hasten with the Qurʾān before its revelation is completed to you, and say, “My Lord, increase me in knowledge.“” Ṭāhā:114
The process of seeking knowledge is in gradation. At its foundation is learning the Qurʾān: its recitation, memorisation, and understanding. After that, you are at liberty to seek more and more of ʿilm, but let your foundation be strong.
