If we are to look into history we will learn that ʿĪsā ʿalayhis salām is perhaps the only man and Prophet to surpass everyone else in Birr bil Walidayn (excellence to parents).
He did an unmatchable and unattainable act of Birr for his only parent: his mother.
What was this act of Birr?
He defended his mother against accusations of unchastity when he was but a newborn infant. This, by the permission of Allāh.
[So she pointed to him. They said, “How can we speak to one who is in the cradle a child?”
(ʿĪsā) said, “Indeed, I am the slave of Allāh. He has given me the Scripture and made me a Prophet.
And He has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and Zakāh as long as I remain alive.
And made me dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me a wretched tyrant.]
Maryam:29-32
We also learn from baby ʿĪsā’s wise words that disrespecting a parent makes one a wretched tyrant.
Down with this tyrant.
