Trustworthiness is remembering the past in order to benefit the present and future.
When we were in poverty, Allah gave us riches. And when we were sick, Allah gave us health. (And when we were lost, He guided us).
We will not be acting justly if we detach today from yesterday, and in doing so claim that we were never poor nor sick…. nor lost.
This is a form of treachery, a disloyalty, and the owner of such a trait ends up with hypocrisy in his heart.
